「The government has announced its intention to establish guidelines regarding copyright legislation regarding art works created by persons with disabilities during this fiscal year」
Prime Minister Shinzo Abe declared his intention to protect the rights of artists with disabilities following an art brut exhibit held at the Prime Ministers' office in May, and now a movement to ensure the protection of artists with disabilities is gaining momentum in Japan.
A very welcome development, we sincerely hope that discussions are steered in a positive direction toward a society that is inclusive of all persons, and protects the rights of all.
